Comprehensive Psychological Testing in Ridgeland, MS
Comprehensive Psychological Testing
Answers Bring Clarity. Clarity Creates a Path Forward.
Killebrew Psychological Services provides comprehensive psychological and neurocognitive testing for children, adolescents, and adults in Ridgeland, MS. We believe diagnostic clarity drives good outcomes and effective treatment. When symptoms overlap, previous treatment has not helped, or there are questions about psychological, developmental, behavioral, or cognitive functioning, comprehensive testing can help provide the answers needed to move forward.
Our evaluations are individualized and go beyond a single score or checklist. We combine clinical interviews, validated assessment instruments, behavioral observations, record review, and collateral information when appropriate. Our goal is to understand what is happening, explain why it is happening, and translate our findings into practical recommendations for treatment, school, work, and daily life.
Why Choose Our Testing Center?
At Killebrew Psychological Services, we take a comprehensive approach to psychological testing rather than relying on one-size-fits-all screening.

What to Expect During Testing
1. Understand
We begin by learning about your concerns, history, goals, and questions. Understanding the individual and the circumstances surrounding the concerns is an important part of the evaluation process.
2. Evaluate
We select the assessment measures needed to examine symptoms, strengths, functioning, and possible alternative explanations. Depending on the evaluation, this may include interviews, standardized assessment instruments, behavioral observations, records, and information from parents, teachers, partners, physicians, or other professionals.
3. Move Forward
We integrate the results and explain the findings in clear, understandable language. Our recommendations are designed to provide a practical path forward and may help guide treatment, educational planning, workplace support, medical follow-up, or other services.
Conditions We Evaluate
Autism Spectrum Disorder Testing
Autism can affect social communication, sensory processing, flexibility, interests, and patterns of behavior. Because autism can look different across ages, genders, and ability levels, a careful evaluation is important.
Autism testing may include developmental history, clinical interviews, autism-specific measures, cognitive and academic testing, adaptive-functioning measures, behavior ratings, and information from parents, teachers, or partners. Our goal is to determine whether the individual meets criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder, identify co-occurring concerns, and provide useful recommendations for support.
ADHD Testing
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder can involve inattention, impulsivity, hyperactivity, executive-function difficulties, or a combination of symptoms. There is no single test that diagnoses ADHD.
A comprehensive ADHD evaluation considers symptom history, functioning across settings, rating scales, attention and executive-function measures, and other possible explanations. These may include anxiety, depression, trauma, sleep problems, or learning disorders. Results can help guide treatment, school accommodations, workplace strategies, and medication consultation.
Intellectual and Adaptive Functioning Testing
Intellectual testing examines areas such as reasoning, problem-solving, memory, processing speed, and other cognitive abilities. When intellectual disability is suspected, evaluation also considers adaptive functioning, including communication, self-care, social expectations, safety, and everyday responsibilities.
Testing can clarify strengths and needs, support eligibility decisions, guide educational or vocational planning, and help determine appropriate levels of assistance.
Depression Testing
Depression can affect mood, motivation, sleep, appetite, energy, concentration, self-worth, and daily functioning. Psychological testing can help determine the nature and severity of depressive symptoms and whether they may be better explained by grief, trauma, bipolar disorder, anxiety, medical factors, substance use, or another condition.
Greater diagnostic clarity can support more targeted treatment and provide meaningful ways to measure progress.
Anxiety Testing
Anxiety may appear as excessive worry, panic, avoidance, physical tension, social fear, perfectionism, or difficulty tolerating uncertainty. Our evaluations consider symptoms, triggers, impairment, and related conditions.
Testing can help distinguish generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, phobias, trauma responses, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, and anxiety that occurs alongside ADHD, autism, depression, or medical concerns.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Testing
OCD involves intrusive, unwanted thoughts, images, or urges and repetitive behaviors or mental rituals performed to reduce distress. OCD can sometimes be confused with generalized worry, perfectionism, trauma reactions, autism-related routines, or personality traits.
Specialized assessment examines the content, frequency, intensity, and functional impact of obsessions and compulsions so that appropriate, evidence-based treatment recommendations can be made.
Narcissistic Personality Features and Disorder Testing
Narcissistic traits can include a strong need for admiration, entitlement, difficulty with empathy, sensitivity to criticism, or patterns of unstable self-esteem. These traits exist on a spectrum and should not be diagnosed based on conflict or isolated behavior alone.
A comprehensive personality evaluation examines longstanding patterns, relationships, self-perception, emotional functioning, and alternative explanations to determine whether Narcissistic Personality Disorder or another condition is supported.
PTSD and Trauma Testing
Trauma can affect mood, sleep, memory, relationships, physical arousal, safety, and a person's sense of self. PTSD testing evaluates exposure history and symptoms such as intrusive memories, avoidance, negative changes in thinking or mood, and heightened reactivity.
Our trauma-informed approach also considers complex trauma, grief, dissociation, depression, anxiety, substance use, and other overlapping concerns. The purpose is to clarify diagnosis and help guide safe, individualized treatment.
Borderline Personality Disorder Testing
Borderline Personality Disorder may involve intense emotions, fear of abandonment, unstable relationships, identity disturbance, impulsivity, chronic emptiness, anger, self-harm, or stress-related dissociation.
Because these symptoms can overlap with trauma, bipolar disorder, ADHD, depression, and other conditions, comprehensive testing can help distinguish among these possibilities. Findings may support recommendations for effective approaches such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and trauma-focused care when appropriate.
Other Personality Disorder Testing
Personality testing evaluates enduring patterns in thinking, feeling, behavior, coping, and relationships. We assess concerns involving avoidant, dependent, obsessive-compulsive, paranoid, schizoid, schizotypal, antisocial, histrionic, and other personality features.
Results are interpreted within the individual's history, culture, circumstances, and current symptoms. The goal is not to place someone in a box, but to identify patterns that can improve treatment planning and relationships.
Dementia and Memory Testing
Memory loss is not always dementia. Changes in attention, language, judgment, processing speed, or daily functioning can have many possible causes, including normal aging, depression, anxiety, sleep problems, medication effects, medical illness, mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer's disease, or another neurological condition.
Cognitive and memory testing helps describe the pattern and severity of change, establish a baseline, and determine whether medical or neurological follow-up may be needed. Dementia evaluation is most effective when psychological findings are considered alongside medical history, laboratory work, and brain imaging when indicated.
Bipolar Disorder Testing
Bipolar disorders involve episodes of depression and periods of mania or hypomania. These may include decreased need for sleep, increased energy, rapid thoughts, elevated or irritable mood, impulsivity, and changes in judgment.
Symptoms can overlap with ADHD, trauma, substance use, personality disorders, and unipolar depression. A comprehensive evaluation examines the timeline, duration, severity, and consequences of mood changes to support accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment planning.
More Than a Diagnosis: A Personalized Roadmap
An accurate diagnosis should lead to useful action. Following testing, recommendations may address psychotherapy, medication consultation, educational supports, workplace accommodations, parenting strategies, skill development, medical referrals, or additional specialty care.
We explain findings in clear language so patients and families can understand both the challenges and strengths identified during the evaluation. Our goal is not simply to provide a diagnosis. We want our evaluations to give individuals, families, and the professionals involved in their care a clearer understanding of what is happening and what can be done next.
At Killebrew Psychological Services, we believe answers bring clarity, and clarity creates a path forward.
